What's the difference?

Double vs Triple Glazed Windows

A double glazed window has two panes of glass separated by a vacuum containing either air or an odourless gas. This heat-trapping chamber slows the rate of thermal transfusion, preventing heat from infiltrating in Summer and escaping in Winter. Triple glazed windows, with their extra pane of glass and extra chamber, greatly enhance this effect.

As well as fantastic levels of thermal performance, both double and triple glazing can also achieve higher standards of noise insulation and UV ray resistance.

Which should I choose?

Aluminium or UPVC windows?

UPVC is Lancashire's most popular window material. It's beloved for its versatility and compatibility with a range of colours and woodgrain effects.

Aluminium, meanwhile, exhibits exceptional strength. Aluminium windows, therefore, can support very large panes of glass with only the thinnest of frames. It's this that gives aluminium windows their sleek, minimalist and modern appearance.

Both materials also only require minimal maintenance, with only the occasional wipe down with soapy water required.
